Chia seeds were documented to exist as a food in 3500BC. There were cherished in Central America before the Spanish invasion 1400-1500’s according to Natural Healthy Eating.

Recently, Chia seeds are back by popular demand and it became a must-have superfoods. (Superfood is an unscientific marketing term used in various context. For example , it is sometimes used to describe food with high nutrient or phytochemical content that may confer health benefits)

Chia seed pudding is one of my favorite foods for breakfast or to replace sugary dessert because it’s simple to make.

Ingredients :

   •  3 tablespoons Organic Chia Seeds

   •  150ml Soy Milk

   •  ½ teaspoons Palm Sugar

   •  Fruits (optional)


  1. 1. Pour 150ml Soy Milk into a bowl.
  2. 2. Add in 3 tablespoons of organic Chia Seeds and mix well.
  3. 3. Add in palm sugar and mix evenly.
  4. 4. Let it soak for 20-30 minutes. Stir the mixture every 5-10 minutes
  5. 5. Leave it in the refrigerator until the chia seeds are formed.
  6. 6. Garnish with your preferred fresh fruit.

Tips: You can leave the mixture overnight and serve as breakfast the next morning.

Servings: 1-2 Servings


Other ways to use Chia Seeds

  1. 1.  Add chia seeds to apple juice to make “sago”.
  2. 2. Grind seeds and add to hot milk to make a “porridge”
  3. 3. Mix seeds through yogurt.
  4. 4. Add seeds to salad dressings.
  5. 5. Add chia seeds to beaten eggs, soak for 10 minutes and make an omelette.
  6. 6. Throw some seeds into a stir fry.
  7. 7. Mix ground seeds with butter or peanut butter for a nutritious spread.
  8. 8. Soak chia seeds in milk and mix through hot oatmeal.
  9. 9. Add seeds to stews to thicken.
  10. 10.Mix 1 dessertspoon of chia seeds with a quarter cup of water to make an egg substitute for baking cakes and cookies.
